Enjoy old-fashioned hospitality in an immaculate 1900's mountain home filled with antiques and romantic country furnishings. The Inn is an easy and picturesque 15 minute drive from the Village of Ruidoso, at least 10 degrees cooler then the Village at 7,200 elevation and 10 to 20 minutes to major attractions and adventures. Shop till you drop, play all day, kick your heels up on a dance floor, attend the theater, appreciate the arts, enjoy the great outdoors with hiking,biking or fishing in our near by National Forests but when the day is done know you have a retreat and escape from the hustle and bustle here at Evergreen Manor. Return through the scenic winding mountains of tall pines to your home-away-from-home where the blue skies and puffy clouds and fresh sent of pine trees welcome you. The stars bright in the dark sky ( so close you feel you could touch them), while the little wildlife critters sing their own special nighttime melodies and seclusion and quiet all around you that allows your spirit the space to reflect, relax and regenerate.The manor was built as the Cantrell family home in 1979 with superb craftsmen detail and is filled with turn of the century restorations, which includes period wall paper, brass door fixtures upon the solid paneled doors and woodwork that graced the halls of the 18th century Stearns Hotel in Carrizozo, NM. The handsome oak three panel oval beveled glass Victorian entry door has welcomed guests to come in dating back to the Stearn Hotel origination and glory of the railhead days in the early 1900's. The spirit of hospitality runs through it's frames, love and good-will it's finishing polish.
Each guest room is designed to be free of clutter,each unique and individually furnished with a collection of antiques and family heirlooms selected for their beauty, comfort and utility. Every room has a private (en suite) attached bath with your choice of walk-in shower, claw foot tub, pedestal soak tub, or 2 person Jacuzzi. Amenities baskets in every bath and bedroom with evening snacks in the parlor and fresh crisp linens with soft plush towels and vintage robes. Your comfort is our commitmen !
Guests enjoy reading or conversing in the parlor or taking a private moment of relaxation on one of the many decks. Walk our 10 acre woodland or climb to the top of our mini mountain .Take your picnic lunch along to fish in the near by Bonito Lake or the National Forest area. This Historic Inn gives back so much and the hand-rubbed Oak mantel with Tiffany and leaded stained glass Cathedral window invites relaxing moments for quiet conversation. The cathedral ceiling resounds ever note of musical talent and is the ideal place to sing out a joyous marital vow or theatrical audition.A full country breakfast is served weekends upon formal crystal and Bavarian china, or when season permits, on one of many sunny porches or decks. Midweek Full Breakfasts are a bit more casual but just as filling. Country Victorian elegance with a happy home hotel ambience. Each table setting has grace and charm. The table is set in vintage style; the food includes various specialties passed through generations of award winning American Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts.
