Innkeepers
- David And Bonnie Lambert
We have been owners of several public relations and
consumer service based businesses. We've owned and operated
one of the largest mobile vendor preventative maintenance
operations for a chain of one-way rental trucks. Our most
recent enterprise was the Texas RV Park in Big Spring,
Texas. In six years of ownership, the park's Good Sam rating
skyrocketed from a 0 to a 9 (with 10 being the highest mark
possible). It goes without saying that we work well (and
hard) together and most of the time have fun while doing it.
We've been married 18 years (and still on our
honeymoon).
Our two separate prior lives blend together well. Bonnie is
the talker, David is the listener. Bonnie has resided in the
Midwest and East-Coastal states as well as Alaska and a
couple Southeastern states. David is a native of Texas and
was born and raised in El Paso. He was a medic in Vietnam
and saw much that he really doesn't talk about (remember he
is a listener). Always the soft spoken southern gentlemen
and a perfect balance to Bonnie's driving forces. His "Honey
Do" list is never ending it seems. Sound familiar, guys?
Bonnie comes from a Dutch/German heritage where "clean" was
the norm. She learned her cooking skills at the apron
strings of many a good cook and it gives her great pleasure
to see other's enjoy her works of culinary art. David is
always willing to do just that and so he is the official
taster. He enjoys working outside and rarely ever comes
inside the house except for meals and bedtime or to do one
of those things on the Honey Do list. David is the best
supporter a women could have and "No ladies, he is not
available!"
After being in many places and seeing many beautiful areas
of the United States we could not think of a more perfect
place to retire than Ruidoso, NM. Ever since we were small
children it has been the place to come and anytime our
parents said,"Let's go to the mountains," we were in the car
with our bag packed.
When we decided to come to Ruidoso we looked at many
properties knowing all the time that we again wanted to have
a family-run business. It was an instant love and
fulfillment of a dream when we came upon what is now called
Evergreen Manor. There sat the iconic "Walton House" on 8
acres. It needed a little fixing up but still nothing that
couldn't be dealt with. So now Bonnie gets to play in her
Granny Garden, and together David and Bonnie design and
decorate the inn with all the beautiful heirlooms from their
ancestors as well as go on antique treasure hunts.
It is the cedar smell that the gentle breeze brings through
the open windows, the melodious thrills of songbirds, the
rush and speed dives of the hummingbirds, the deer grazing
in the meadow and woodlands, the clouds that pass overhead
amid the clear blue sky, all the lush green and bright
yellow natural landscape, the cool nights, the gentle summer
rains, the changing of the seasons that puts Michelangelo's
art to shame... All this and so much more that can only be
expressed as "The Amen of nature is right here in Ruidoso,
NM". We invite you to share our bit of paradise and our
passion to enjoy life here at Evergreen Manor Bed and
Breakfast.
